Physique Alpha HUD
Shopping for the Slink Physique (and other AV enhancement products) is the usual process of finding stores that carry the appliers. The My Slink Obsession (MSO) mall (shown above) on the western part of the Slink sim is certainly a great way to become acquainted with such stores and allows you to try out products and get LMs to the main stores. Slink’s mainstore, of course, carries a plethora of a wide variety of accessories and clothes as well. Some of these stores, like Somnia, have discounts or give credit, to people who join their group.
I sampled some items from the recent MSO and they were in my previous post. So far no reports of the spottiness exhibited by The Mesh Project clothes I reported previously. I have been very impressed with the Alpha HUD, although it is a bit of a squint for me. Too bad you can’t adjust the size of it.
Using the same clothes I used for TMP, here are the results:
These open-sided clothes are going to be a problem until the designers themselves work out something.
The fit here, as with TMP, was solved by wearing the largest size, and just happens to fit more snugly on Physique than TMP. (DeVicious Out of Your League dress.)
Still have rough edges along the top of the bodice, even with larger sizes. (Ricielli Ruched fitted mesh dress in emerald.)
It’s going to be the same formula for mesh bodies as for system bodies: make adjustments and live with some flaws.
I have also mentioned that a Onin sweater/Dekla skirt outfit, using M size skirt and large sweater worked, but for some reason under the arms takes out the shoulder, so you get bulky look with sweater. (These were not tested on TMP and my guess is they’d be fine, too.) Also that skirt can rise and show an alpha zone between your legs. Again, we’re at the start of such things. I think that with appliers for an underlayer where alphas won’t work, using the texture will amend that. It’s what some designers have used with their mesh clothes with good success.
(Sanura Snowpaw, of Somnia, who makes appliers for Slink, and I talked about this the other night and she thought it would be way too much work to get them to line up, and my thought is a similar approach worked when Pixel Dolls introduced her mesh outfits. If we’re going to let some things slide, that’s not a bad area in which to try it.)
Finally, my sneak preview of the Liquid Mesh jeans from Redgrave sent me back to that store but there’s not a lot of LM stuff. Just these wonderful boots!
Kim Boots from Redgrave have a great HUD for handling a multitude of textures and colors and fit over the Physique legs and Slink feet quite well except for the two inexplicable triangles you see in the inset front-on view. Worn with stockings and those spots would be almost negligible.
Needless to say, I will be experimenting with other outfits but I am finding myself very comfortable wearing my Slink mesh body, hands, and feet on a regular basis.
